Brian is a senior commercial real estate professional with over three decades of experience managing loan portfolios, executing credit strategies, and originating loans on behalf of institutional lenders. He has advised banks, insurance companies, and bond investors on the oversight of performing and non-performing loans, with a focus on value preservation, resolution strategies, and borrower engagement. Brian has provided third-party asset management services for complex CRE loans across all major property types, delivering real-time reporting, financial analysis, business plan reviews, and cost containment solutions designed to protect lender interests.
Most notably, Brian served as Managing Director at Natixis, where he originated and closed over $5.4 billion in CMBS and balance sheet loans, managing a team of underwriters and building a platform trusted by repeat institutional clients. His earlier roles include advising on distressed CRE portfolios for hedge funds and private equity sponsors, leading acquisition and resolution efforts for a $50 million loan fund, and managing real estate lending teams at firms such as Merrill Lynch, ING Capital, and Citibank. Across his career, Brian has been engaged to step in when loans become challenged, overseeing restructurings, property-level performance, and coordinating asset workouts.
Brian earned his Master’s in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and holds FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses. His experience spans the full life cycle of a commercial loan—from origination and structuring to active asset management and resolution, making him a trusted resource for lenders seeking to enhance the performance of their real estate portfolios or outsource the day-to-day management of transitional assets. With a hands-on, credit-focused approach, he helps clients reduce risk, improve transparency, and preserve capital value across diverse market cycles.
